A PORTRAIT : ” MONSIEUR DE LA SALLE ” BY TOUZET …

Getting into the “drawing-room” which is the 1st room to start the visit , you discover the features of the master of the place as he was presented in 1824 by the painter called TOUZET. It is an accurate replica of a drawing by JB SCOTIN dating from the beginning of the 18th century. You find Monsieur de la Salle, a pleasant-faced clergyman working in his library. He is writing educational and religious works for the «  Society of the Christian and free Schools » which he founded in Reims in 1680.
